Hi,

Palm Desktop 4.1.4 is not compatible with Resync due to a completely new file structure. Please see the note at the bottom of the following page: http://www.stratabase.com/resync/downloads.php -- Palm Desktop 4.1 SP3 is the latest version that is compatible with Resync.

You can do the following:
1) Uninstall Palm Desktop 4.1.4
2) Install Palm Desktop 4.1 SP3 -- see above URL for download location.
3) In your data directory: \Program Files\Palm\<Palm username>, do the following:
i) Rename address\address.000.dat to address.dat (backup your existing address.dat)
ii) Rename datebook\datebook.000.dat to datebook.dat (backup your existing datebook.dat)
iii) Rename memopad\memopad.000.dat to memopad.dat (backup your existing memopad.dat)
iv) Rename todo\todo.000.dat to todo.dat (backup your existing todo.dat)

Avinesh

I followed Avinesh's directions, but Palm 4.1 would not recognize the .dat files.

Hi,

If you had Palm Desktop 4.1.4 installed and downgraded to Palm Desktop 4.1 SP3, the data files will not be readable by Palm Desktop 4.1 SP. However, if you had Palm Desktop 4.1 SP3 installed and then installed Palm Desktop 4.1.4, your old data files would have been renamed to filename.000.dat, which can be copied back to filename.dat for use with Palm Desktop 4.1 SP3 (backup your existing .dat files first though).

Regards,
Avinesh

Hello,

ConvertMe 2.0 adds support for Palm Desktop 4.1.4.

Numerous bug fixes when migrating Address Book to Microsoft Outlook as well -- all phone numbers are now transferred, bug fix for no entry in Outlook Address Book, and more.

Regards,
Avinesh
